Course overview

With the changing cultural landscape, funeral professionals need to make adjustments within the funeral setting to accommodate diverse populations. Funeral professionals need to know how to communicate effectively with people from other cultures and ethnicities, and they need to know something of the funerary traditions of other cultures. This course offers a look at intercultural burials by reviewing the predominant religions in America and the cultural traditions attached to them with respect to the funeral service. Upon conclusion of the course, students will be prepared to comfortably offer their facilities to diverse cultures at the appropriate level of need.
