Public Speaking for Funeral Directors
Tracking # 20-631695
Course overview
The eulogy is different from other types of oratory. Knowing how to craft the grief-driven speech is critical to successfully delivering an appropriate and comforting message to the family. This course presents an examination of the disciplines of public speaking and rhetoric relevant to the funeral director. Through analysis of two of the most famous speeches in history—Pericles’ Funeral Oration and the Gettysburg Address—the course explores the specific public-speaking techniques used by the authors of these two remarkable speeches and then presents a three-step process that will make future eulogies easier to organize, write, and deliver.
