The goal of this activity is to help clinicians in all settings develop a better knowledge base from which they can provide consultation regarding drug-supplement interactions. Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to: 1. Identify problems in appraising drug-supplement interactions. 2. Describe pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic mechanisms of drug-supplement interactions. 3. Explain how to rate the significance of a potential drug-supplement interaction. 4. List clinically significant drug-supplement interactions. 5. Use drug-supplement interaction data to appropriately counsel patients.
