Course overview

Infection control and prevention is the number one reported citation (nationwide) for long-term care facilities. Antibiotic stewardship is one component of an infection control and prevention program. It is important for long term care nurses and administrators to make a commitment for reducing the use of antibiotics in long-term care facilities. This webinar will help the learner gain knowledge about clinical, regulatory and procedural challenges in implementing and maintaining a successful antibiotic stewardship program. The presentation is led by a board-certified pharmacist and he will guide learners through a regulatory scope to understand the implications of antibiotic usage, in long term care, and where we stand now.
