Course overview
The purpose of this course is to identify common medical errors and causation in occupational therapy practice and identify best practices for the analysis, reduction, and prevention of such errors. The 2018 National Patient Safety Goals (NPSGs) of the Joint Commission; the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Code of Ethics; AOTA's Standards of Practice for Occupational Therapy; the 2018 Florida Statutes, Chapter 468, Occupational Therapy Practice Act; the Florida Administrative Code, 64B11-4: Board of Occupational Therapy Standards of Practice; and the Department of Health and Human Services are the foundations of this course.
