The purpose of this program is to provide an overview of obstetrical complications that may present during labor and delivery and provide management strategies and interventions for the care of the intrapartum patient with complications. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to: Review risk factors for uterine rupture Apply management strategies for a woman experiencing hemorrhage Discuss the nursing management for the patient experiencing preterm labor Describe potential risks to the laboring patient with multiple gestation Identify at least two fetal and neonatal complications from a prolonged pregnancy
