Course overview
Muscle Physiology and Strength Training should be the foundation for improvement in performance and the reduction of injuries in the athletic patient. This course by Dr. Robert Donatelli will review strength training concepts, muscle physiology as it relates to strength training, specificity of exercise, and the overall benefits of strength training for rehab. Specific exercise types will be discussed including eccentric training, plyometrics, explosive weight training, and periodization concepts. Implementation of individualized rehabilitation programs based on to evaluative findings will be reviewed and demonstrated in case studies, utilizing the research-based findings discovered through the course.
