The goal of this activity is to help clinicians in all settings develop a better knowledge base from which they can provide consultation regarding alternative therapies used for pediatric developmental disorders. Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to: 1. Describe the diagnoses that are classified as developmental disorders. 2. Discuss the etiologies of and treatments for different developmental disorders. 3. Explain the possible benefits and risks associated with the use of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids for developmental disorders. 4. Summarize the evidence related to the use of natural medicines and dietary interventions in developmental disorders. 5. List three health and wellness modalities that show evidence of safety and possible efficacy for the treatment of certain developmental disorders.
