Course overview

High blood pressure affects millions of patients in the United States and is a commonly encountered disease state in the healthcare arena. With the role of a pharmacist expanding to include additional clinical functions such as medication therapy management and collaborative practice, it is essential that an evidence-based approach is taken when assessing patients as well as evaluating and optimizing pharmacotherapy regimens. New guidelines are available to help guide the assessment and treatment of patients with high blood pressure; therefore, it is imperative that clinicians have the ability to assess and apply them when contributing to the implementation and monitoring of patient-specific drug regimens for high blood pressure management.
