Course overview

Workplace impairment among health care professionals not only places patients at risk, but also the health care professional themselves, along with their co-workers. Early recognition of the signs, symptoms, and behaviors associated with impairment is imperative. By knowing who to report to, what to report, and where to report it, steps can be taken to intervene with the overall goal of maintaining a safe environment for both patients and co-workers as well as being able to help nurses recover. This course satisfies the requirement, under Fla. Stat. 464.013 and 64B9-5.014 F.A.C,. for continuing education on recognizing impairment in the workplace.
