Course overview

CMS has finalized a new case-mix classification model called the Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM), which will be effective beginning October 1, 2019 for classifying SNF patients in a covered Part A stay. This new PPS payment system will be a significant change from the RUGs IV system that is effective until September 30, 2019. This course will review details for each of the five case-mix adjusted components, and will also review the new MDS assessment requirements, the limitations and requirements for delivery modes of therapy, and other significant points of what to expect under this new payment system.
