Course overview

Patients with episodic or chronic migraines require treatment with a combination of acute and preventative medications. A wide variety of drug classes are currently used for migraine prevention; however, the majority of them are used off-label. CGRP inhibitors are a new class of medications approved for migraine prevention. Pharmacists need to understand the safety and efficacy of these agents, as well as the appropriate patient population, advantages and disadvantages of this new class of drugs.
