Upon completion of this program, participants will: 1- Define delirium; 2- Describe at least two populations at higher risk for developing delirium; 3- Describe at least two reasons why delirium might be missed or misdiagnosed; 4-Describe at least two factors that predispose to delirium; 5-Describe at least two factors occurring during hospitalization that increase the risk of delirium; 6- Distinguish hyperactive, hypoactive, and mixed delirium; 7- Describe how a patient's family members can advocate for a patient experiencing delirium; 8- Distinguish "ICU psychosis" from delirium; 9- Describe at least two benefits of standard screening for delirium; 10-Describe at least one preventive strategy for patients with an underlying neurocognitive disorder.
