Course overview

As the essence of the plant, essential oils represent a very special and dynamic relationship of wei qi and yuan qi. In this introduction to the use of essential oils from a Chinese medical perspective, we will discuss the way in which any essential oil operates on the body via its nature and functions. We will discuss the care and formulation of essential oils and how to discern good quality and retain therapeutic action through a course of treatment. We will then consider specific essential oils created from both common plants such as Eucalyptus and Chinese herbal medicinals such as Schizandra. We will examine how they can be used to work with disorders occurring at the essence level such as cancer, infertility, personality disorders and auto-immune conditions.
