Statement of Learning Need

The types and spread of influenza virus is a worldwide concern. Influenza disease occurrence is influenced by environmental and behavioral factors, such as compliance with strategies of prevention. While influenza tends to be brief and self-limiting, the complications of influenza can have serious outcomes in at risk populations that can include death. Educating the public on the risks and corresponding complications of influenza is a major health need that clinicians should address in every day practice.

Course Purpose

To increase health clinician current knowledge of influenza prevention, immunization, and treatment.

Target Audience

Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, Registered Nurses, and other Interdisciplinary Health Team Members.
