Course overview
Adhesive capsulitis is one of the most challenging shoulder disorders encountered by rehabilitation clinicians. The differential diagnosis of adhesive capsulitis vs. shoulder stiffness is important to designing a proper rehabilitation program, establishing an accurate prognosis and in delivering efficient interventions. There has been a recent paradigm shift in the proper rehabilitation for patients with adhesive capsulitis that is based on a customized approach. The focus of this course is on this new evidence-based paradigm. Earn the confidence of patients and referral sources by understanding the current evidence-based treatment techniques and avoiding frustration and miscommunication that can result from following a traditional approach. What is the precise amount of force that should be delivered with manual techniques in order to maximize outcome and minimize overloading the tissues? This is a critical question that this course will answer. Video presentations of effective clinician and patient-directed effective soft tissue and joint mobilizations/ stretches will provide the rehabilitation specialist with additional tools to optimize outcome with these challenging patients.
