Integrating Care for Patients With Co-Occurring Psychiatric and Substance Use Disorders
Tracking # 20-662199
Course overview
About 39% of adults with substance use disorders also have one or more co-occurring psychiatric illnesses. Although psychiatric and substance use disorders are separate, independent conditions, they overlap and interact in many ways. The onset of psychiatric symptoms statistically increases the likelihood of substance abuse. This educational activity provides an overview of appropriate screening, assessment, and integrated management of patients with these co-occurring disorders.
