Course overview

Home health is one of the fastest growing areas in healthcare today. With the growing concern to contain healthcare costs as well as the fear of the effect of the “Senior Tsunami” over the next 20 years, it is vitally important that we streamline treatment interventions while achieving desired outcomes more quickly. As a physical therapist in the home health setting it is the job of the therapist to improve the patient’s functional outcomes in the shortest timeframe possible while keeping the patient safe from injury or further debilitation. By utilizing a sensory integration approach, therapists can more efficiently address all of the patient’s needs and play a major role in reducing costs and keeping seniors independent longer. The purpose of this webinar is to assist therapists in identifying functional limitations and risk factors through standardized testing. Then, utilizing test results the therapist will learn how to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that facilitates multiple systems in more concise interventions to achieve the functional outcomes desired. Finally, this course will assist the therapist in documenting their skilled care to assure insurance reimbursement.
