Course overview

CPI Verbal Intervention training provides staff with an effective framework for preventing, deescalating and safely responding to anxious and defensive behavior. The program realistically addresses the serious issue of workplace violence, along with when to call for help and how to keep oneself and others safe. CPI post crisis strategies assist staff to care for themselves and others after an incident, and in recognizing opportunities to learn in the aftermath of a crisis. The Verbal Intervention training program is available as a blended delivery course. Program concepts are taught online and reinforced through highly interactive classroom activities. Extensive application, scenarios, examples, practice, competency based testing and a written examination ensure that participants gain new knowledge and skills in verbal intervention. In addition, the coaching program gives Certified Instructors the skills and tools to extend the learning and retention in the workplace.
