Describe the clinical relevancy between electrolyte depletion and organ dysfunction 3. Contrast "optima" and "essential" electrolyte dosing algorithms during shortages 4. Discuss methods for managing electrolyte disorders 5. Review the protein requirements of the adult and pediatric patient 6. Discuss the micronutrient needs of the adult and pediatric patient 7. Formulate plans for the use of alternative intravenous shortage components 8. Discuss potential safety issues when utilizing alternative strategies to address parenteral component shortages 9. Explain the role of the FDA in preventing and mitigating medication shortages. 10. Identify resources for guidance in selecting appropriate alternative(s) during shortages of PN components and multi- components products. 11. Identify resources for developing policy and procedures for managing shortages of PN components and multi-component products.
