Recovery from Opioid Addiction

Course overview

This course was designed to provide continuing education hours to Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, and Licensed Mental Health Counselors in the state of Florida. This is a course about a qualitative study conducted by Dr. Coltea (2016) on how 12 adults recovered from opioid addiction without having family support. The study was conducted in USA and only enrolled adult participants who reported at least two years of abstinence from all illicit substances. This study introduces new, fundamental, and abundant descriptions of what the experience was like for someone to recover from opioid addiction without family support.
