Course overview

Substance abuse among pregnant women in the United States has been increasing. Emergency care providers may be called upon to recognize and manage the immediate consequences of substance abuse in a pregnant patient, and may be in a unique position to identify and refer patients for ongoing treatment. During this presentation, we will review the consequences of drug abuse during pregnancy and treatment options.
