Course overview

The realm of pediatric occupational therapy can be daunting. There are so many components to achieve progression and successful development. Hand skills are vital to play, ADL independence, and school performance for the growing child. This pediatric hand development course will classify grasps and developmental milestones of hand skills. Evaluation strategies and standardized testing is reviewed. In depth interventions are suggested for various grasp deficiencies including in-hand manipulation, voluntary release, and bilateral use of upper extremities.
