Course overview

Two Part Series (2 clock hours each session) Part I Course Goals: Students will have a deeper knowledge of the anatomy of the neck, including boney landmarks, muscles, ligaments, tendons and other soft tissue, nerves, veins and arteries. Understanding of this will help with the following weeks learning of active and passive range of motion, observing postural strains and having a hands-on experience with the function of the neck. Techniques in massage and stretching will also be taught. We will also go over contraindications for working in this area. Part II Course Goals: Students will have a deeper knowledge of the anatomy of the SacroIliac, to include boney landmarks, muscles, ligaments, tendons and other soft tissue to including nerves, veins and arteries. Understanding of this will help with the following weeks learning of active and passive range of motion, observing postural strains and having a hands-on experience with the function of the sacroiliac joint. Techniques in massage and stretching will also be taught. We will also go over contraindications for working in this area both prone and supine.
