This course provides the mandatory content to ensure that all Texas nurses have the required knowledge about the Texas Nurse Practice Act and the Position Statements published by the Texas Board of Nursing that impact the practice of nursing in Texas. Learning Objectives: 1. Explain how the Texas Nurse Practice Act defines and describes nursing practice. 2. Describe how Texas Board of Nursing rules, especially 217.11 impact nursing practice. 3. Discuss the relevance of Texas Board of Nursing Position Statements as they pertain to nursing practice. 4. Discuss legal and ethical principles of nursing practice. 5. Correlate nursing professional boundaries with appropriate nursing practice.
