Foundations in Scientific Acupuncture - Course 1
Tracking # 20-678449
Course overview
Qi is the foundation upon which acupuncture practice rests. This lecture sets out to place qi on a firm scientific foundation and to do this it needs to explore how are bodies are formed. This process is studied by science and is called embryology. It draws heavily on the work of Dr Charles Shang and the Growth Control Theory of Acupuncture. The lecture begins by exploring the origin of the character of qi and the meaning of the radicals that form it. It then explores how are bodies form in-utero and the way in which the body uses channels and nodes to create an organisational system to control growth. The channels and nodes then become the acupucnture channels (jing luo) and acupuncture points respectively. This helps guide practice.
