Course overview

This lecture will deal with the following topics: 1. Acupuncture points as organising centres in the body. The two Chinese characters for acupoints (jie and xue) most accurately translate as organising node (jie) and spirit cave (xue) and this section deals with exploring these characters further. 2. Their place within the channels and how they organise the energy within these channels. 3. The classification of points into different types and how we can understand their varying functions at a scientific level. 4. How needling causes change by affecting the fascia and the electrical activity at the point. 5. How pathology can change the position and palpation of the point.
