Pilates is a mind-body exercise system designed to activate and strengthen the core stabilizers which in turn can improve one's ability to perform functional tasks. This course has been created as an introduction to the Pilates method. Populations from children to seniors can benefit from this mind-body approach. Recent peer reviewed research has highlighted the usefulness of Pilates for many patient populations. Come join me and experience the benefits of the method for yourself. Course will include exercise descriptions with photos to enhance your learning experience. Participation in the exercises is greatly encouraged to facilitate mastery as well as to gain an understanding of their purpose.
