According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, important mental health habits - including coping, resilience, and good judgment - help adolescents to achieve overall well-being and set the stage for positive mental health in adulthood. Although mood swings are common during adolescence, approximately one in five adolescents has a diagnosable mental health disorder. This training will focus on the growth and development of adolescents, common issues that create deviation from normal growth and development in adolescents, and effective, evidence-informed interventions to use in treating adolescent mental health issues.
