Course overview

By the end of the training attendees will be able to: -Explain the science of IASTM and the anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology of fascia -Explain the history of Gua Sha and TCM and influence to IASTM -Use many different tools for IASTM and Gua sha -List the benefits and contraindications of IASTM -Recite the research, evidence, and effectiveness for IASTM and Gua sha -Assess fibrotic tissue, colors of flesh, and sha -Know how to choose the correct angle for the tools, with the appropriate amount of pressure Learners will be able to: -Identify & discuss the effects, benefits, physiological responses, indications & contraindications, and principles relating to soft-tissue dysfunction -Observe & then demonstrate proper handholds and treatment strokes using multiple IASTM tools -Assess fascia and Sha by scanning and the press and blanch techniques -Perform techniques for upper body -Perform procedures for lower body -Perform techniques for specific injuries and disorders -Perform techniques for self-care -Detect soft-tissue adhesions in both upper and lower body musculature -Demonstrate treatment protocol for scars, edema -Perform procedure to disinfect or sterilize tools -Anticipate response and results from using instruments on the human neuro-myofascial system
