Course overview
This course examines the link between the existence of chronic pain and pain severity on subsequent opioid is in dependent patients with chronic pain. This study is a secondary analysis of a national, randomized, controlled trial of buprenorphine-naloxone plus counseling for prescription opioid dependent patients. The authors found links with depression, PTSD, anxiety, ADD and bipolar Disorder, and accounted for co-occurring psychiatric disorder variables using a multivariable logistic regression model. This is a moderately research intensive course.
