Course overview

Healthcare is a value-laden enterprise which can be fraught with clashes of values. Social Workers in healthcare facilities are often the first line responders when such conflicts arise. This session is designed to build on social work strengths by exploring how common ethics frameworks might also be applied to resolve these contentious situations. Participants will gain knowledge of various ethics frameworks used in healthcare and will have an opportunity to utilize skills and techniques used in ethics consultation to effect positive outcomes.
