Course overview

Trauma Informed Care in behavioral health care has been promoted by SAMHSA and others for several years. Increased knowledge about adverse childhood events and social determinants of care have caused many in the medical and behavioral healthcare industry to rethink how care is delivered and what really has an impact on the lives of those we serve. However, there does not seem to be as much visibility to Trauma Informed Care and services for those with intellectual disability or autism spectrum disorder, especially when receiving Applied Behavior Analysis. This podcast discusses the role of Trauma Informed Care and people receiving ABA services. Our guests are Kent Houchins and Margaret Hashemzadeh of the Grafton Integrated Health network.
