Course overview

Participants will be able to describe the ethical responsibilities of criminal justice workers, as well as other professionals working with the substance abuse and mental health population, will be able to describe various ethical violations that often go unrecognized or dismissed by virtue of the complexities of their roles, will be able to describe various cultural dimensions that are integrated into the clients persona and how that affects ones intervention with ethical considerations, will be able to describe strategies to work through ethical dilemmas associated with the criminal justice population in and out of prisons, will be able to describe personal parameters and guidelines to avoid certain ethical conflicts, and will be able to describe supervisory procedures to assist professionals in avoiding breaches of ethical standards.
