Course overview

Functional Movement Disorder (FMD) is a challenging and incompletely understood diagnosis seen with increasing frequency in physical therapy clinics. In this course we will explore what is known about the pathophysiology underlying FMD, identify key examination strategies and prognostic factors helping to determine recovery potential, and summarize the most current evidence for rehabilitation to empower clinicians to have confidence in treating this complex diagnosis. This course is directly related to the practice of physical therapy and is therefore appropriate for the PT/PTA.
