Course overview

Participants will be able to describe the complexities of Post-traumatic stress disorder, Trauma, and their relationship to Substance use disorder, will be able to describe various clinical features of working with Veterans of war and their families, will be able to describe how to work with children who have PTSD, will be able to describe various cultural dimensions (including gender) that may affect the therapeutic process and which need to be considered in developing a treatment plan, will be able to describe pharmacologic interventions that may be available and which may be needed as part of a successful treatment regimen, and will be able to implement treatment strategies that are based upon best practices.
