Teletherapy Basics

Course overview

Participants will be able to describe the various regulations that may apply to teletherapy, including state licensing rules and national professional standards, will be able to describe basic best practices in the delivery of therapeutic services via audio and videoconferencing platforms, will be able to describe the various considerations in a risk/benefit analysis used to determine the appropriateness of teletherapy, will be able to describe the aspects of, and need for, comprehensive informed consent prior to the delivery of teletherapy, and will be able to list nationally recognized and available resources for teletherapy guidelines and practice.
