Course overview
This course is fully online, at-your-own-pace and reports to CE Broker. When healthcare providers (HCPs) are exposed to any number of contagious diseases on a daily basis, they need to take strong precautions to keep themselves and their patients safe. Immunizations may not protect against all potential threats, but it can limit the spread of vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs). It may surprise you that despite the universal risks, there are no universal policies for immunizations. In fact, there are huge chasms between countries in terms of the regulations and scheduling of vaccines. The reason for this is largely tied up in the beliefs of the healthcare providers. They may not understand how certain diseases spread or what role they play in keeping patients safe. Regulatory bodies in different countries may address this problem in different ways, with some creating strong recommendations for vaccinations and others ignoring the issue altogether.
