Emerging Infections: A World View - 1 Contact Hour

Course overview

The world has suffered from deadly infectious diseases for many years, with some pathogens resulting in far worse consequences than others. COVID-19 will pass with yet unknown societal impact. Sadly, it will likely be followed by novel pandemics, some less virulent, and others more devastating. Nurses will always be on the front line: playing key roles in fighting the disease and showing their patients how to best adapt to life in a non-sterile world. There are many low-dost, high impact practices nurses can teach that will reduce the frequency and burden of emerging infectious disease.
