Course overview

This course aims to provide the skills in administering non-parental medications to residents of Assisted Living Facilities and home care agencies. Our Med Tech training program follows a minimum of 4 hours of medication assistance training that is mandated by the state of Florida. Topics included in Med-Tech Training are. Five routes of medication intake Proper Documentation Medication Management Medication Classification Medication aides assist clients who have cognitive impairment, are disabled, and or ill with managing their medications. Most Medication Techs work for assisted living facility or home care agencies. Responsibilities. Assisting clients with managing their medications by opening, preparing , documenting, and preparing the medication Monitor clients for adverse effects or side effects Assist clients with ordering refills on prescribed medication Communicate with clients medical team regarding medication concerns Necessary Precautions in dealing with Medications
