Critical thinking is an essential component in the nursing profession, as nurses are often faced with complex and changing situations, some of which may be life-threatening. Nurses must be able to anticipate patient needs, detect changes in patient status, and make decisions regarding patient care, all while ensuring that safe patient care is being delivered.
