Femoral Acetabular Impingement: An Introductory Course

Course overview

Femoral acetabular impingement (FAI) is a condition where patients experience pain and impairment from a malformed femoral head or acetabular rim. Due to this structural abnormality, impingement occurs with certain lower-extremity movements. Early recognition of FAI is important to clinicians, as perpetual impingement has been linked to labral tears and early osteoarthritis. The purpose of this course is to review the structural pathology and clinical signs associated with FAI. Exercise-based modifications are presented to help prevent subsequent injury and permanent mobility issues.
