Course overview

Road safety has become a major public health concern and older drivers seem to be at higher risk of collision because of functional impairments. This CEU course explores two prominent conditions, osteoarthritis and vision problems, that commonly impair driving in the senior population. Medications that can influence the ability to drive safely, along with valid and reliable screening tools for driver capability are investigated. Lastly, the effects of exercise on driver safely is explored.
