Physical Therapy Management of Post-Concussion Syndrome
Tracking # 20-703579
Course overview
Concussion is a traumatic brain injury caused by a bump, blow, or jolt to the head or body that can alter the normal functioning of the brain. A multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers trained in the evaluation and management of concussion is necessary to address this growing public health problem. Physical therapists serve a vital role on this healthcare team. Although the scope of symptoms may seem daunting, an understanding of the basic pathophysiology, examination procedures, and intervention options can lead to successful management of this patient population.
