Educating Therapists Prior to Educating Patients Regarding Lymphedema
Tracking # 20-704213
Course overview
Lymphedema is a chronic, incurable and debilitating disease. A healthy lymphatic system adequately transports and drains lymph fluid from the interstitium in the human body. A damaged, obstructed or compromised lymphatic system allows proteins from lymph fluid to remain in interstitial tissue. This accumulation of protein-heavy lymph fluid in the skin results in lymphedema, otherwise known as lymph-swelling.
