Eating Disorders - Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa

Course overview

Anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa carry a high lifetime mortality rate and generally involve serious comorbidities, such as substance use disorder. These eating disorders are very difficult to treat with a common incidence of relapse. Medical complications of anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa affect essentially every organ system and behavioral disorders and suicidal ideation are relatively common. Current research studies and treatment goals for recovery from an eating disorder are reviewed.
