Course overview

HIV/AIDS epidemic is currently a debilitating global health crisis. Part I of this course provides background information and an overview of the HIV infection and AIDS. Part II of this course discusses the ways in which the HIV infection is transmitted. Part III of this course details both the prevention and control of the HIV infection. Part IV of this course addresses the need for attitude and behavior change. Part V of this course considers workplace issues in the realm of policy development. Finally, Part VI of this course explores the various legal issues commonly associated with the HIV infection and AIDS.

Disclosure statements

This is a 2 hour course on HIV/AIDS education required by the Florida Department of Children & Families. Pursuant to section 381.0035(1), F.S., the Department of Children & Families, shall require all employees and clients of facilities licensed under Chapter 397, F.S. to complete a one-time educational course on the modes of transmission, infection control procedures, clinical management, and prevention of human immunodeficiency virus and acquired immune deficiency syndrome with an emphasis on appropriate behavior and attitude change. 


This course complies with the aforementioned requirement.
