AS A CLINICIAN, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR BOTH ASSESSING A WOMAN IN LABOR AND MANAGING HER CARE DURING THE DIFFERENT STAGES OF LABOR. MANY WOMEN WILL CHOOSE TO HAVE THEIR LABOR PAIN CONTROLLED BY PHARMACOLOGIC MEANS. OTHER WOMEN WILL PLAN TO USE NON-PHARMACOLOGIC METHODS, BUT WILL FIND ANALGESIA NECESSARY AT THE TIME OF LABOR TO EASE OVERWHELMING PAIN. IN THIS COURSE, YOU WILL LEARN ABOUT SYSTEMIC ANALGESIA, AND REGIONAL AND LOCAL ANESTHESIA, THE EFFECTS AND USES OF EACH, AND PROCEDURES FOR ADMINISTERING THEM. (61 MINUTES)
