This seventy - five hour course of instruction, exclusive of supervised clinical experience, has been as a continued education course meeting the guideline detailed by 75 HRS, State of Florida In Chapter 10D-68. The following subjects were included into the course of study: *Communications skills *Observations, reporting and documentation of patient status and the care or service provided *Reading and recording temperature, pulse and respiration *Basic infection control procedures including HTV/AIDS * Basic element of body functions that must be reported to the RN case manager *Maintenance of clean, healthy environment *Recognizing emergencies and knowledge of emergency procedures *Recognizing emergencies and knowledge of emergency procedures *The physical, emotional and developmental characteristics of the population served, including the need for respect for the patient, their privacy and property *Appropriate and safe techniques in personal hygiene and grooming, including bathing (bed bath, sponge, tub or shower bath), nail and skin care, oral hygiene *Safe transfer techniques and ambulation, including safe body mechanics *Normal range of motion and portioning *Adequate nutrition and fluid intake *Role of the home health aide *The difference in families *Food and household management *Orientation to charting documentation and standards to provide quality patient care as an employee *Infant and Child Care *Domestic Violence
