Learner Objectives: Session 1: Pathophysiology of COVID-19. This session will give an overview of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, its transmission, and how it acts on the body. Q & A. Session 2: Clinical course of COVID-19 and the possible role of HBO2. This session will describe the clinical course of COVID-19 from asymptomatic patients through ventilated patients, identifying any opportunities for intervention using HBO2. This session will also summarize the published clinical experience treating COVID-19 patients with HBO2. Q & A. Session 3: Safety concerns for the use of HBO2 in COVID-19 patients. This session will discuss the potential hazards to COVID-19 patients that need to be addressed and studied including: Pulmonary oxygen toxicity; Sick patients leaving ICU to go to HBO2 department; Pulmonary barotrauma. Q & A.Session 4: Operational considerations for the use of HBO2 in COVID-19 patient. This session will discuss operational considerations for facilities who intend to treat COVID-19 patients including: Infection control in the hyperbaric chamber; Staff education; Adaptation of emergency procedures. Q & A. Session 5: Translation of research into practice. This session will discuss the balance between compassionate use of HBO2 versus the need for IRB-approved, evidence-based research including strategies to translate limited evidence into clinical practice. Q & A. Session 6a: Effects of volatile gaseous compounds (VOCs), induced by hyperbaric oxygen, in counteracting the SARS-Cov-2 virus in asymptomatic and with mild symptoms positive patients. Session 6b: Efficacy and Safety of Hyperbaric oxygen for ARDS in patients with COVID-19; rationale and protocol of the randomized controlled trial COVID-19-HBO. Session 6c: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in Preventing Mechanical Ventilation in COVID-19 Patients: A Multicenter Case Series. Session 6d: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for COVID-19 Patients with Respiratory Distress: A Case-Controlled Clinical Trial. Session 6e: Clinical effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on patients with COVID-19. Session 6a: Effects of volatile gaseous compounds (VOCs), induced by hyperbaric oxygen, in counteracting the SARS-Cov-2 virus in asymptomatic and with mild symptoms positive patients. Q & A. Session 7: Synthesis of the Data. This session will attempt to synthesize the data that has been presented into a cohesive document with three general goals: What questions have we answered; What questions still need to be answered; What elements of study design should be incorporated in future studies. Evaluation Methods: Evaluation is offered online through UHMS website, which evaluates the effectiveness of the meeting, speakers and that no bias was presented and overall objectives were met.
